Three Cups from Coffee Time Romance

At thirteen years old, Dane Grissinger is just like any other teenage boy. He loves the excitement and thrill of a little danger, and thinks he is indestructible.

Kitrina Eisley is Dane’s girlfriend, and going steady at thirteen is a big deal. They are practically inseparable, but when Dane wants to have a little spooky fun on Halloween, she cannot shake a feeling of uneasiness.

Kit has spent the last ten years of her life living with the guilt of losing Dane. She knows she should have tried harder to persuade him to stay away from the Coulbourne Castle, but he insisted. He swore it would be fun, and it was not like they were going to damage anything. But their séance turned into a nightmare she would never outrun. It is almost ten years to the day of his disappearance, and suddenly she can feel his presence in her home. He is in a kind of limbo, and unable to find the peace to move on. Kit will do anything to help him cross over, even if it means losing the tenuous connection to her childhood love.

Not many people find the love of their life at thirteen years of age, but Dane and Kit did, making their story all the more touching. They were kids looking to have a little fun on Halloween, something we can all relate to, but that is where it all fell apart. The sense of doom is palpable, putting the readers on the edge of their seat. Ms. Lee does a great job of setting the scene for her readers. The spook factor is fantastic, her characters distinctive and interesting. The perfect read on a blustery cold night.

Four Ribbons from Romance Junkies!

Kitrina (Kit) Eisley is a very different person than she would have been if Dane hadn't disappeared ten years ago. Growing up through years of ridicule for telling the truth, she tends to keep to herself. She's never had a boyfriend since Dane disappeared, as she still pines for him.

Dane Grissinger has spent the last ten years of his life caught in between worlds. He has missed Kit very much. Over the past ten years, he has grown strong enough that he can now appear to Kit in his spiritual form. He yearns to touch her, but his apparition just chills her.

When his spirit begins to visit her, she realizes she still loves him. Kit is determined to get Dane back, or put his spirit to rest. She starts digging through the past and finds a few surprises. Gathering information from an elderly man, she soon learns about the Coulbourne curse and is resolved to break it. Getting the help of the local seer, her mom, and Dane's parents, they go back to the original scene and try to reverse the curse. Full of hope and despair, they are unsure of the outcome. Will Dane's spirit finally be at rest, or will he come back to them?

If you're looking for a suspenseful romantic ghost story, then ALL HALLOW'S HAUNTING is it! Charming characters, a thrilling mystery, and spooky scenes set the backdrop for a wonderful light read. Perfect to read curled up to the fire.

Three and a half from Rites of Romance

Silas Coulbourne murdered his wife and son, and thirteen-year-olds Kit and Dane plan a séance to talk to their ghosts. But it all goes wrong, and a ghost takes Dane away. But no one believes Kit’s story.

Kit suffers from the town’s lack of belief in her story, spending a fairly lonely 10 years until an apparition that resembles Dane visits her. This prompts her to investigate the truth of what happened that fateful night. Kit

Desirée Lee has written a well-paced ghostly tale. The reader is easily drawn into the action and also wants to discover Dane’s fate. Lee’s main characters and supporting cast are likable although the dialogue is a bit stilted at times. The story possesses the necessary tension to keep the reader turning pages. I enjoyed reading this tale, but I would have preferred an earlier finale. Ending a couple chapters sooner would have given strength to the story’s overall impact and given the reader more post-tale food for thought. Sometimes it’s nice to create what happens next in the mind rather than having it spelled out. That said, I look forward to reading more of Lee’s work.

Four and a half Delightful Divas from Dark Diva Reviews!

When they were thirteen, Kit and Dane decided to go to the Coulbourne Manor on Halloween night, to do a séance. Dane thought that it would be a great idea to contact the ghosts of Mrs. Coulbourne and her son, who had been murdered by Mr. Coulbourne. Never could they have imagined that they would make contact with a ghost, or that a ghost would take Dane. When Kit ran home, screaming that a ghost had kidnapped Dane, no one believed her. After hours of searching with no results, it was called off, with no trace of where Dane may be.

Ten years later, Kit still has a hard time during the month of October, especially Halloween night. Everyone in the town shunned her after that night, calling her crazy and a murderer. She has never forgotten Dane and the guilt continues to eat away at her.

When Dane’s ghost begins haunting her at night, she becomes obsessed with finding out the truth about the Coulbourne family and giving Dane peace, so his soul can finally rest. With each minute of research and every question she asks, Kit is more and more surprised and horrified. Can Kit get to the bottom of Dane’s disappearance? If she does, will she be strong enough to help put his soul at peace?

All Hallow’s Haunting by Desirée Lee is a tale of two young teenagers, in love for the first time. When Dane is taken from Kit, it changes her life forever. She is not accepted by her neighbors and becomes a loner. At thirteen, she didn’t think that she or Dane knew what real love was, but now she thinks she may have actually been in love with him. Kit’s guilt, pain, and love are embedded so deeply within her, it has shaped her into the person that she is today. When she learns all of the Coulbourne secrets, she discovers how truly strong she actually is, and maybe she can finally find peace for herself and Dane. This story was very interesting and I enjoyed reading it. The dialogue could have been a bit more realistic, but the story itself was touching and intriguing. If you enjoy quick, paranormal reads, I recommend All Hallow’s Haunting for an entertaining Halloween story!
